Here at Russell Hobbs we understand that sometimes we’ve all got a few questions to ask. That’s why here you’ll find a collection of the most frequently asked questions or ‘FAQs’. However, if you can’t find anything that relates to your question, do not hesitate to get in touch by visiting the Contact Us page.
Q: WHAT DOES “GLASS TOUCH” MEAN?
A: Glass Touch is our new, contemporary range which incorporates touch control technology into a range of kettle, toaster and coffee maker – the first ever to do so. It’s self explanatory really, the “TOUCH” controls are activated with a simple touch, no awkward knobs, levers or buttons to press. The “GLASS” part comes from some of the components we use to finish the kettle, toaster and coffee makers off – we use high grade materials including glass panels to give an ultra modern, slick design to match any contemporary kitchen setting.
Q: THE TOASTER SHUTS OFF AFTER A WHILE, IS THERE SOMETHING WRONG WITH IT?
A: That’s because it has a built-in “Sleep” mode which activates after 5 minutes of inactivity. It’s a feature that not only saves energy but also means you don’t have to worry about it using electricity when it’s plugged in, so it’s great for those who are “green” (and money) conscious!
Q: DOES THE TOASTER FIT WARBURTON’S BREAD?
A: Yes it does, we test all bread types to ensure they are suitable and this toaster is what we call a 2 slice, long-slot, so it can incorporate two large Warburton slices side by side easily. As the UK’s No1 toaster brand, we test our toasters to ensure they suit all sliced bread types.
Q: HOW CAN I GET THE TOAST OUT WITHOUT BURNING MY FINGERS?
A: Glass Touch comes with a “high lift” lever at the side, just push the lever up and toasted bread can be easily removed! Our boffins in the test lab insist on this feature and have nice, unburnt fingers to prove it!!
Q: WHY ARE THERE SO MANY TEMPERATURE SETTINGS ON THE KETTLE?
A: That’s because today’s tea and coffee drinkers require a range of temperatures to get the best flavour. Speciality teas and herbal teas are on the increase and some of these require settings as low as 60 degrees, whereas a standard kettle will boil to near enough 100 degrees. Coffee also requires a different temperature setting, as only instant coffee is really suitable for boiled (100 degree) water.
Q: HOW DO I KNOW WHEN MY KETTLE HAS BOILED OR THE WATER IS AT THE RIGHT TEMPERATURE?
A: Simple, like many electric kettles the kettle switches off when ready, with Glass Touch it does this on every temperature setting. When heating up the water, the blue light flashes around the selected temperature setting, then goes a constant blue when the water is ready.
Q: HOW DOES THE COFFEE MAKER WORK?
A: In a similar way to the kettle and toaster – it’s all touch control technology, so you can control the settings, the touch controls illuminate in the same way, so you can select the number of cups and use the timer feature for that fresh smell of coffee first thing in the morning when you wake up, or show off to your friends when they come round for dinner!!
Q: HOW DO I CANCEL A SETTING / WHAT IF A WANT TO SWITCH OFF THE APPLIANCE?
A: That’s easy, on every product (kettle, toaster or coffee maker), all you have to do is press the same button again to cancel a function or setting and simply re-select what you need.
